Continental Math League (CML) is a nationally sponsored mathematical competition. Students are challenged to solve six difficult problems in thirty minutes. The problems are designed to encourage students to use a variety of problem solving techniques in the areas of mathematical and visual problem solving. Students in grades 5th through 8th will participate in five meets during their math class beginning in November and ending in March.

Here are a few sample questions:

Grade 5: How many different positive whole numbers will divide evenly into 12?

Grade 6: Juan is 11 years old. Next year he will be 4 times as old as his sister will be then. How old will his sister be when Juan is 18 years old?

Grade 7: If A+B=7 and A-B=3, find the value of AxB.
